Paphos was once the capital of Cyprus and has an abundance of Hellenistic and Roman ruins and mosaics. The House of Dionysos which houses these is not far away. The popular harbour offers waterside fish restaurants where you can choose the catch of the day for your meal. Aphrodite, Goddess of love was said to have been born from the foam at the rocks known as Petra Tou Romiou which is on the road out of Paphos.
