Will our wedding in Cyprus be legal?

Yes, it is fully recognised in the United Kingdom and throughout the world.

Are the Wedding services conducted in English?

Yes, all weddings in Cyprus are conducted in English. If you wish to add some of your own vows please let us know and we will check if this is possible for the venue where you are marrying, but they must be approximately one to two minutes only.

Will we receive a Marriage Certificate?

Yes, your Marriage Certificate will be given to you immediately after your wedding.

How long will I need to be in Cyprus?

There are no legalities to how long you need to be in Cyprus prior to your wedding. MedWeds allow you to be flexible if you want to take a few days or weeks. We also do not insist where you stay so you can book a hotel, villa or apartment. Please see our Villas & Apartments

Can we choose our wedding date?

Yes, MedWeds will ask you your preferred wedding date and we will do our utmost to obtain this date, sometimes we may have to go one side or the other of your date because the Town Halls and Churches may be booked. Please note – We book your wedding date and time specifically for you and it is only when you are happy with the date and time that we request you complete our booking form and return this to our UK office with either your deposit, or full amount dependent how close we are to your wedding date

How soon do we need to book?

The sooner the better. Anglican Church weddings are normally fully booked the year before, so to avoid disappointment book with MedWeds as soon as you know your plans. Many civil wedding dates are also becoming very full so again please contact MedWeds as soon as possible.

Do you have a brochure?

Yes, we produce a brochure every year, because we have a UK office it is no problem for us to send a brochure to you.

How do I know I can trust MedWeds with the most important day of my life!

Can my family and friends attend?

Yes, of course, the more the merrier! We can arrange your wedding for as many people as you wish to join you to celebrate your wedding in Cyprus.

Can you come on our own?

Yes, MedWeds will be pleased to act as witnesses at no extra charge, all wedding ceremonies require 2 witnesses over the age of 18.

What type of Wedding can we have?

You can choose a Civil Wedding, Anglican Church Wedding or Catholic Church Wedding. Blessings and Renewal of Vows are also available.

Who will conduct our wedding?

Civil weddings will be conducted by either the Mayor or a member of Municipality. Anglican weddings will be conducted by a registered Chaplain from the Anglican Church. Catholic weddings will be conducted by a Priest from the Catholic Church.

What name does the bride travel under?

The bride travels under her maiden name for both journeys, the same as shown in her passport. The bride also signs the marriage certificate in her maiden name.

How can we transport our wedding outfits?

You can pack some outfits into your hand luggage, but check with the airline first before travelling. A hard suitcase is very suitable for the bridal gown. Please check on maximum weight allowed.

How can we press our outfits on arrival?

Most hotels offer this service but there may be a charge. Some hotels have rooms to store the bridal gown away from prying eyes! Please check with your hotel before arrival or ask reception once you arrive if they have this facility. If you are staying in a villa you will have the facility to press your outfits yourself, or ask us for our approved dry cleaners.

What will MedWeds give us?

As a family run business a tiptop professional service with conscientious and caring people trained to give you the best. If we receive your booking form at our UK office within 14 days from the date we confirm your wedding we will be pleased to give you a complimentary one tier sponge wedding cake.

What about our wedding Cake?

MedWeds can supply 1, 2 or 3 tier wedding cakes in fruit , sponge, carrot cake or black forest gateaux. Fruit cakes have marzipan and white royal icing, sponge, carrot cake and black forest gateaux have white royal icing. Please note fruit cakes must not be taken back to the UK.

Will there be fresh flowers available?

Yes, Cyprus has fresh flowers throughout the year and carnations, roses, lilies and gerberas are always available. Cala lilies are only available in April/May if you require cala lilies at other times of the year we need 4 – 6 weeks notice. Other flowers are also available to order and again we may need 4 – 6 weeks notice. We can arrange all your wedding bouquets, buttonholes, corsages, Church displays in a variety of flowers and colours. If you have a photo of a bouquet you would like then please send it to us.

What about photography and video?

24 or 36 photos available in a white wedding album, or more if you prefer! VHS or DVD’s are also available.

What about wedding limousines and other transport?

We can arrange white wedding limousines, mini buses, fun buses or coaches to transport all your wedding guests on your wedding day. We can arrange transport from the airport to your accommodation at very reasonable rates!

Can you recommend where we can hold our reception?

We have a good selection in most areas in traditional tavernas, overlooking the sea, yachts on the Med, or in the heart of the Troodos Mountains.

Can we book hairdressers/beauticians/nail extensions?

Yes, we can arrange appointments in various salons, some areas we have mobile hairdressers, so relax and pamper yourself for your special day.

What does this all cost?

Very little compared to the UK, please let us know your wedding date you wish to book and we will arrange everything for you. All prices are shown in our Extra Touches and Olympian Collections.

IMPORTANT TIPS

Remember when you first arrive in Cyprus the sun can be very strong compared to the UK so take it carefully to avoid strap marks and red noses!

Make-up which suits you in the UK may not wear so well in Cyprus, avoid looking shiny!

We do not recommend you have a stag or hen night the day before your wedding, think about what your photography will look like on your wedding day!
