Ten good reasons why you should book with MedWeds

All wedding ceremonies are conducted in English. All paperwork and the Marriage Certificate will be issued in English, and this is fully recognised in the United Kingdom.

Two witnesses are required, but we will be only too happy to be your witnesses should you wish to come to Cyprus on your own.

A copy of the two witnesses Passports are required to complete the necessary paperwork upon your arrival in Cyprus.

As soon as MedWeds receive acceptance to co-ordinate your wedding it is important for you approximately three months prior to your Wedding date to obtain the relevant following original documents. Photocopies cannot be accepted.

Full Birth Certificate (the shorten version is not acceptable)

Passport (10 year with at least 3 months following your return date to the U.K.)

If either or both divorced, Decree Absolute

If widowed, a Death Certificate and any previous marriage certificates

If adopted, an Adoption Certificate

If under 18 years of age, a letter of consent from a parent or guardian*

If either or both parties have changed their name by deed poll, proof from a solicitor is required*

For an Anglican Church wedding at least one person must have a baptism certificate but for Catholic Church weddings both parties must have a certificate.

Affidavit for UK Passport holders (one per person) must be obtained from a Solicitor in the UK or please contact MedWeds for further details.

A "Freedom to Marry Certificate" for Irish passports holders (one per person) must be obtained from the Irish Embassy in England or the Department of Foreign Affairs in Ireland, please ask MedWeds for further details.

PLEASE NOTE

There is no legal reason why you have to be in Cyprus for any number of days before your wedding. As we are a specialist wedding company we do not insist on you taking a 14 night holiday, and we will co-ordinate your wedding wherever you stay.

In Cyprus ceremonies are generally not performed on Saturdays, Sundays or Public Holidays, however, upon request Saturdays may be available at some venues

* Please contact MedWeds for full legal requirements

If you have any queries regarding the above, please do not hesitate to contact us at MedWeds

MedWeds cannot be held responsible for any documents not available or incorrect once you arrive in Cyprus
